TREDZ™ and SURE-STEP™ by Perspective Products decking is warranted by the Manufacturer, Perspective Products, (herein referred to as either the “Manufacturer” or “Perspective Products) to be free from defects in material and workmanship occurring as a direct result of the manufacturing process, under normal use and service, during the period stated and subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty is valid only in the United States. TREDZ™ and SURE-STEP™ decking is warranted against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship that result in blistering, peeling, flaking, cracking splitting, cupping, rotting or structural defects from termites or fungal decay.
Should your TREDZ™ or SURE-STEP™ decking show defects at any point, Purchaser/Homeowner must notify Perspective Products in writing within 30 days after discovering the claimed defect and prior to beginning any repair or alteration to the product. The notice must include a detailed description of the claimed defect, a photograph(s) of the defect and proof-of-purchase.
All claim requests should be mailed to Perspective Products, 5375 Edgeway Drive, Allendale, Michigan 49401. Proof of purchase is necessary.
A reasonable time period should be allowed for inspection purposes. If, after inspection, the Manufacturer determines that the claim is in accordance with the terms of this Lifetime Limited Warranty, the Manufacturer will repair or replace at its sole discretion, the defective material, or will refund the original purchase price of the defective material. The Manufacturer will not be liable for labor and/or removal costs connected with the claim. Replacement product will be provided as close to the original as possible, although it is not guaranteed to match completely. In the event of repair or replacement, the original Warranty shall apply to the repaired or replaced portion of the decking material and will extend for the balance of the Warranty period in effect at the time the material proved defective.
The Lifetime Limited Warranty is void if any of the following occurs: (a) improper installation of the decking and/or failure to abide by the Manufacturer’s installation guidelines; (b) movement, settling, distortion or collapse of the ground or supporting structure on which the decking, dock, boardwalk or pier is installed; (c) naturally occurring disasters and/or disasters including, but not limited to, terrorism, impact of objects, earthquakes, tornados, fires, hurricanes, lightening, flooding or acts of God; (d) improper handling, storage, neglect or misuse of the product either by the Purchaser or third parties; (e) improper application of paint or other surface chemicals not recommended by the Manufacturer; (f) adverse effects of air pollution and unusual heat sources, including but not limited to outdoor grills and reflection from windows or foil sheathing.
The Manufacturer does not recommend this product for all end use applications. This product is intended for deck, dock, boardwalk and piers. Local building and/or zoning code authorities should be consulted before installation of TREDZ™ and SURE-STEP™ for structures with specific load bearing capacities or other zoning code requirements. This Lifetime Limited Warranty is valid on single/multi family residential applications only. For all other entities, such as for commercial uses, this Warranty shall be in effect for a period of twenty (20) YEARS. THE WARRANTY STATEMENTS CONTAINED IN THIS LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY SET FORTH THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTIES EXTENDED BY Perspective Products, IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTIABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE , AND THE PROVISIONS OF THIS WARRANTY SHALL CONSTITUTE THE ENTIRE LIABILITY OF Perspective Products, AND IS THE PROPERTY OWNER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. Perspective Products SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE PROPERTY OWNER FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY ON THIS PRODUCT. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation or incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations or exclusions described above may not apply to you. This Lifetime Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
TREDZ™ and SURE-STEP™ decking experience color change due to normal weathering is excluded from this Warranty. Non-uniform color change as a result of equal exposure to sunlight is covered under this Warranty; non-uniform color changes resulting from unequal exposure to sunlight is not covered under this Warranty. “Normal weathering” is defined as exposure to ultraviolet (sun) light and extremes of weather and atmosphere which will cause any colored or painted surface to fade, darken, chalk, or acquire a surface accumulation of dirt and stains. The severity of these conditions depends on air quality, the geographical location of your home, and other local conditions over which Perspective Products has no control. Warranty/replacement is at the purchase price of the original owner(s) and does not include shipping, handling, or installation. The consumer is responsible for shipping defective product back to the Manufacturer for inspection.
Perspective Products reserves the right to discontinue or change any characteristic of TREDZ™ and SURE-STEP decking, including colors, without giving notice to the original purchaser or subsequent owner. In the event of such discontinuance or change, Perspective Products shall not be liable to the original purchaser or subsequent owner. Should a product covered by this Warranty be unavailable, Perspective Products reserves the right to substitute a product that is of equal quality or price, according to Perspective Products’s sole discretion.
By acceptance of the shipment of TREDZ™ or SURE-STEP™ decking, the installer, owner, and/or owners agree that any controversy or dispute arising among the parties or under this Lifetime Limited Warranty shall be resolved by arbitration conducted in Ottawa County, Michigan, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and a judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrators may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
